They say diamonds are a girls best friend, but frankly I beg to differ. Clearly this girl has been living in isolation and hasn’t been introduced to steak or chocolate!
Cacao has a rich dark flavour, which pairs perfectly with the kick of the chilli. This steak with cacao and chilli rub feels like the ultimate indulgence.
2 steaks (sirloin and fillet are my favourite cuts)
2 tsp raw cacao
1 tsp dried chilli flakes
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground pepper
1 tsp Himalayan pink salt or sea salt
A drizzle of olive oil or coconut oil
Leave the steaks in room temperature to rest whilst you combine the ingredients
MI’m all of the seasonings together, keeping aside 1/4 of the salt
Rub all the mixture all over your steaks and then sprinkle the remaining salt on top.
Heat your pan and add your oil of choice. After 20-30 seconds, add your steaks and cook to your liking!
Top tip: These taste great with sweet potato fries cooked with a little cayenne pepper!
