Protein Brownies

These brownies are a novice bakers dream. Everything goes into a blender or food processor, pop into an oven and tuck in!
I especially like this recipe as it is free from sugary fruit like dates or dried figs, which so many recipes are!
They are also totally free from:
– Dairy
– Fruit
– Grains
As well as being delicious enough to give to your friends and family who might be reluctant to eat ‘healthy’ brownies, they also have protein powder added so you can definitely enjoy them pre or post workout!

Ingredients
200g almonds
2 large beetroot
200g almond or chestnut puree
50g raw cacao powder
2 tbsp, or to taste, coconut nectar (honey, date syrup and brown rice syrup also work)
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use Neat Nutrition vegan chocolate powder)
4 free-range eggs

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
2. Put the almonds in the food processor and grind until a flour-like consistency. Alternatively, use pre-made almond flour!
3. Put the rest of the ingredients in the blender, and blend until all the ingredients are combined and it’s a smooth consistency
4. Pour into a baking tray and bake for 15mins approx
